The box has abilities, as do one thousand other pedals. To be more decisive about how the product is put together means a lot to someone that works in the industry. To make the product big enough to include all components, such as the battery closet, is only looking out for your customers that purchase your product. There could have been a isolated closet add to the device, vented on the cover for heating possibilities for the battery. This is a copy of MXR 10 band EQ, the best thing I found about this pedal is that it do not produce any unnecessary Hissing while use, while the MXR really does. The ferequency ranges are versitile and you can see the difference while operating each freq. ranges additionally the gain functionality, Absolute killer. One of the best pedal I have purchased as EQ although I had already experienced with JOYO,BOSS and MXR. Do not hesitate to buy this,even if you are on budget or not, Overall a good value pedal.
