I already have a similar one that is very old still works perfectly. My husband often offers to peel other veg with me but doesn't like my black plastic hard handle different style newer peeler, so I decided to by another. Well packaged, reasonably price, looks similar to my old one, arrived on time and does the job. However, there is one slight negative as the sides of the main hand piece are quite sharp on the edges to hold for us. I would think worse for an elderly person with thinner skin?

    Brilliant!

    I've been using this type of peeler for many years. Basic, does the job, no worries. Since retuning from America I can find this basic item anywhere. I opted for something similar from Sebatier. Good brand but awful, and expensive peeler. I had been struggling with it for 3 years now when I found this one on eBay. It arrived yesterday and just wow! Back to normal. Peeled my cucumber,potatoes and cooking apples like a dream. I am unbelievably grateful to have back a truly functional piece of kit that does what it says on the tin. Just ordered 2 more. One as a spare and one to give away.

    Poor potato peeler

    This is not a comfortable peeler to use as the both the handle and the blade are just not quite long enough so the handle in particular is quite uncomfortable in the palm of the hand. There is a spindle that goes thought the handle and attached to the blade but this is just a push fit and and the blade becomes disengaged from the handle very easily. It is nota High quality item as described

    Good design

    I had had one of these before and have been using it for th past 30 years! Good design, easy to use and suits me. However, this new one is much blunter than my old one. Maybe it will ware sharper in time? Hence 4/5.

    Does the job as it should

    Feels comfortable in the hand and it's definitely sharp and easy to use. I thought it takes a bit too much off the potato but I'm assuming that will adjust with time. My ancient peeler that I've had for about 30 years and was second hand when I got it peels perfectly, but that's taken a bit of wear to get it right.
