The brass (and somewhat heavy) bookends were placed in plastic bags from the grocery store with a few pieces of cardboard that did not separate them. Thankfully they are not damaged as this is a "no return" item. For the price I expected bookends packaged properly, not a box with items thrown in. Shipping was fast either way.
