    Great radio for fire departments

    Our department just got 4 new APX 4000 on our new apparatus and they work really well. Long lasting battery, bright great looking display, clear audio, and loads of features that we don't really use but are cool none the less. Our department is planning on picking more of these up to put on all the trucks. Sadly we don't get them issued to us, so if we want one for ourselves we are stuck buying one out of our own pockets. I work part time on the ambulance and when Im around town I like to at least have one in my truck just in case I roll up on an emergency or Im the first person to the emergency. I work for 2 departments and both do not supply us with issued radios. My other department only the full time personal get issued radios part timers do not. This Department uses APX 7000 XE. Yes ...
