Item arrived in great shape, just as described. The item was worth the price and the cost of shipment ensured that it arrived without damage. Very satisfied with the transaction . This item was described as brand new even though under item specifics it stated used. After looking at the pictures, I decided to order it since it looked it was in good shape. Before the clamp was sent out, the seller contacted me to say that the unit was used but in good shape and if I still wanted it, they would send it out. I still wanted the item and appreciated the honesty. It arrived within a few days and it works perfect. It is in very good shape and was able to read amps for a/c repair.

  • Fits a very specific interface need

This interface is pretty good for what I use it for. What makes this interface unique is that it has AES I/O. It may be the only interface under $500 that has AES. I am using it to capture my mixes from a Crane Song Spider. I do not use the analog inputs so I cannot speak on the quality of those or the A/D converters. The D/A converters do sound pretty good. I do have a Lucid DA9624 that is about 10 year old converter technology that surprisingly still sound better than these newly designed converters. However, these are really good sounding. One disappointment is that the beautiful meters on the front panel can only meter the analog inputs, not the digital input or analog outputs. The unit is very well made. The Mac OS drivers seem to work fine.

  • Sound Value!

I've always had my own home equipment, but never had pre-amps that compared to the studios I worked in. I never had the cash. The Tascam UH-7000 is the missing link in the evolution of home recording. This makes my custom made large diaphram mic sound so sweet, and it makes my classic Sure SM58 pristine. I don't give a F**k about controlling the unit using the cyber mixer. The only thing that matters is the sound, and the UH-7000 has the sound with low floor noise and clarity that was previously only possible with pre-amps that cost more than your used car. Tascam has delivered and set a new benchmark bridging the gap between home recording and pro-studios. Surf's up, grab the wave.

  • Very nice product, excellent DA

NO vol meter play back from usb connection, you frequently need to reset unit, its easily glitched

  • be careful of the noise floor and power supply - cause crackles and noise issues

if you can live with the noise floor at 41/48k then this is the best dac/da and preamp next to a halo metric you can mod it to deal with the noise issues, search ebay: BUT the cpu load at 196K is unacceptable. Its a missed opportunity for tascam. That said i'd probably buy the DA3000 DSD stand alone recorder as the tascam sound is so very very good!!
