By using advanced algorithms, the high-end Dual Digic 5+ image processors also play a role in cleaning up grainy pictures. As a result, photographers can easily get clean images even in low-light conditions and without advanced knowledge of ISO settings. The Canon EOS-1D X has an advanced 61-point AF system for auto-focus. With 41 cross-type points, you can setup the focus point by point. The camera will then use those points to better track the focal interest across images automatically. Also, the RGB exposure metering sensors monitor color and light in rapidly changing conditions. This process allows the camera to control shutter speed and lens aperture for optimum light entry into the device. Too much or too little light can ruin your image. These metering sensors lower the possibility of overexposed or underexposed images. With the AF system and the exposure metering, the Canon EOS camera will help you to take the exact type of picture you want to take. Like other Canon DSLR cameras, EOS-1D X has full HD video capability. It has 1080p, 720p, and 480p resolutions. It supports industry standard ALL-I, IPB, and H.264/MPEG-4 compressions. You can decide on the compression mode depending on your image quality and storage space needs. Also, the video files larger than 4GB are automatically split during recording. This feature will keep you safe from data corruption due to large file sizes and save you time during file downloads. For professional videographers and filmmakers, there is a time code option that will be helpful for post-production.         Another nice 1 series Canon

        I bought this as a reasonable cost addition to my 1DX II for shooting sports with two cameras. Controls are nearly identical to the Mark II so it is easy to go between the two bodies during fast evolving action. Typically the 1DX has a 70-200 F2.8 mounted with a 300 or 400 2.8 on the Mark II. Once you get used to shooting with the 1 series bodies they have a beautifully balanced feel with large lens and I have stuck with this line since my first 1D Mark II purchase in 2005. Great low light AF performance.

        awesome camera with great features

        This camera is suited for those photographers that demand a lot out of their equipment. That's the reason why you see a lot of the Canon "1-Series" along the sidelines of major sporting events. Yes, it is pricey... But you get what you pay for. As a contracted sports photographer, I need my gear to function all the time no matter what. This is where the "1-Series" shine. It's robust and gives great images and is practically indestructible. Are there other bodies that can do the same? Probably. It all depends on what you are looking for in a camera and how you intend to use it.

        although it is now reaching 8 + yrs in the market it still is a standard bearer. I am a professional sports shooter( Olympics, NCAA NFL PGA etc) and I still have one of these in my bag..built like a tank, outstanding image quality, and with general maintenance will last even the heaviest user demands..

        The wait was worth it.

        I wasn’t sure for a while that I really wanted to upgrade to a 1D-X. I already had a 1D Mark III and Mark IV. I wasn’t happy, though, with their low light performance. The 1DX definitely addressed that. I’ve taken trialphotos at ISO 50600that are better than ISO 3200 on either of ge other cameras without a doubt. Sharp and clear. This camera is wonderful!
