It Ain't Intel...
I recently purchased a couple of used Dell G8RPD BCM57800-T quad port network daughter cards for use in a couple of Dell PowerEdge R730 (LFF) Servers. I have had experience with the Intel version of this card, and was very excited to get these. They work flawlessly and exceeded my expectations for the 10 Gigabits ports on them. But I do have aword of caution for anyone wanting to use them on a more heterogeneous network than mine is. Unlike the Intel version of this card the 10GB ports do not support 100 Megabits network. They only support 1000 Mbps and 10000 Mbps. The two GB port on rach card do support 10 - 1000 Mbps. None of the ports support 2.5Gbps. Other then the unexpected lack of support for 100 Mpbs and 2.5 Gpbs networks, these cards work really well and I am very happy with them.
