The C214 professional large-diaphragm condenser microphone offers a supreme one-inch capsule on an integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise. Recording of loud sources of up to 156dB SPL is not a problem thanks to the switchable 20dB attenuation pad. A bass-cut filter allows close-up recording with almost no proximity effect. The C214 combines one capsule of the legendary C414 dual-capsule system with the AKG Back-Plate Technology, resulting in an outstanding performance.

    IT'S JUST BRILLIANT

    Let's keep this short. I needed a new XLR Microphone for voice-acting. Pro Voice Actor Crispin Freeman recommended this one... So I bought it. With the AKG c214 w/ Stand & Pop Filter I : -Completed my Animation Demo Reel. -Have been cast in several on line voice acting projects. -Completed a documentary for school. (All with clear sounding quality.) This microphone is just 'da bomb; (Lots of other people used it when they auditioned for my friend's project.) Philip A. Jones. Thank You soooo much.

    Great value

    Being the owner of a Neumann U-67, I am somewhat spoiled. I needed a quick replacement while the 67 went in for service and the price was right on the 214. As session singers on many albums, my partner and I always asked for 414’s on the dates because of the sparkle it gave our stacked harmonies. The 214 sounds a bit “scooped” to my ears and the frequency response chart does show some peakiness at around 12 Kh. Still a very good mic for the price.

    Ipad Go To Vocal Mic

    I have been recording for 30+ years but recently read how people were recording on an ipad so I bought an ipad air 2 128gb and also bought an Apogee Duet. I decided on Auria Pro as recording app and it has not disappointed me. I found when recording vocals they had a phase or digital sound to them. I was using a Neumann TLM103 and also a BCM401 so I decided to buy the AKG C214 and was amazed at how well it did for vocals. Now when I record vocals it is with the C214. If you decide to buy a C214 you will not be disappointed.

    Great microphone for the price!

    AKG has a great line of products, from entry level to pro. The trick is finding the right mic for the application. The C214 is a excellent choice and can be used in several instances where clarity and definition are critical. It’s application ranges from the subtleties of vocals and strings to the high decibel levels of brass and percussion. An extremely versatile mic in both live and studio environments.

    Great mic

    I used this for a live set in a large, boomy room positioned over the snare using an overhead boom stand with a bass drum mic. Picked up all cymbals and the kit enough to bring more presence to the band mix. Excellent mic for the price.
