    Electro-Harmonix Oceans 11 Pedal

This is a great pedal with lots more capability than just reverb. It has every kind of reverb there is plus mixes of reverb and echo which I like a lot, reverb and tremelo which is useful and other variations that are not commonly used. The controls are easy to use, the pedal is very well made and the power source is very good quality. You get what you pay for with this pedal. I use it with my Marshall Origin 20 amp and it's a great compliment, offering a number of great sounds and tones. I was fortunate to find a pedal that was being sold as used. I think it was actually a display model as it was in perfect shape, packed in the original box with the power cube still in factory wrapping. Says a lot about this pedal when you look and look for a used one and there is ONLY one used one on the market for several weeks.

    Not For Me

I bought this mainly for the 'drip' on the spring reverb setting. I like playing surf, spaghetti -western, blues and Americana. While delivering killer sounds, vintage spring reverb units are not always practical for various. reasons. The trem and echo features seemed like nice bonuses on the Oceans 11 too. The 'drip' part of the spring reverb sound is really good but my big problem with all the settings on this machine is that it kills my guitar sound. It makes my Vintage Jazzmasters and P90-goldtops through my original tweed, brown and Blackface amps sound like I'm playing through something digital. I'm not stuck on expensive vintage gear. I've been using a cheap Biyang RV10 reverb pedal and it sounds tremendous with my vintage rigs, no drip though. Its got an amazing fat, yet transparent warmth that is totally lacking in the EH pedal. The EH seems to filter out pleasant low frequencies. That classic 'wump' on the bottom strings, that I love for surf tunes, just disappears. Even if I did like the sound of the EH, the tiny print font means it would be virtually useless on stage if I wanted to change settings. I'd need a flashlight, a magnifying glass and very patient band members. If you are just looking for a great baseline reverb for an already great sounding rig, I think you can do way better for a lot less money. Perhaps if I hadn't heard the cheap Biyang first, I may have thought "yeh, its good value and kinda does the job" but I still dont think it would've lasted long. Don't get me wrong. If you need stacks of different reverse, gated, modulated and shimmered reverb in your songs, then its probably great value, but for me, it affects my sound in a way that makes me not enjoy playing.

  • A great sounding and useful reverb pedal.

There are a ton of great reverb pedals on the market. The Oceans 11 stands just a bit taller than most of the others in this price range (Digitech's Polara is probably the most direct challenger and is also pretty dang cool). With all the great functions and variables within them, it's a lot of fun and a really good sounding, useful tool (and toy as well, let's be honest here! lol). Highly recommended.

  • Great sounding guitar pedal!

I purchased the Oceans 11 pedal mainly for the quality sound of it's Shim Verb setting which I find to sound, and respond very natural. It's not over colored like many of the other offerings out there. My only Con is that the pedals bypass is (buffered), not (true bypass) which is understandable however... it does slightly change the dynamics and tone of the drive pedals that I have before it in my signal chain, so unless I plan to use it, I simply just remove it from the board. Other than that.... I love this pedal, and can't say enough about how fun it is to play through.

  • Splash, flashy and fun...

This is a pedal with a good range of options. I like the range of reverb textures and some of the deeper features / effects are pretty cool as kind of "pre-sets". You could get these sounds with some other units but you would have to tweak them around a bit. If you want a very good reverb pedal with some cool "extras" give this one a try. You will be happy.

  • Electric Harmonix Oceans 11 Reverb is a perfect fit!

A great way to add a little or a lot of reverb. I love using it to add to a chain with an amp sim pedal and make it sound more lively.

  • Fantastic

I bought this for my son for his birthday. He absolutely loves it! It works perfectly, and has fantastic sound quality, along with many different settings.

  • Electo harmonics does it again.

If you are looking for a reverb with classic or more modern variations this pedal has it. The traditional sound is what I wanted for my clean channel because the amp does not have it on that setting. The sound is impressive.

  • A great, compact and versatile pedal

There is a solid variety of reverb effects available with this pedal, ranging from credible recreations of classic analog effects to surreal digital soundscapes. Well worth the price and the space on your pedal board.
