Quick and fully functional
I bought these dumbbells, because I was trying to save money and trying to save space. Following the $1 per pound rule, which is less than what you would usually spend, a set of dumbbells ranging from 5 to 55 lbs would cost $660. These bowflex dumbbells cost me $279, no tax, no shipping. AND, they go up from 5 to 52.5 lbs in increments of 2.5 pounds (5, 7.5, 10, 12.5). The dial system is very easy to use. Basically these guys sit in the cases you see. While there sitting you turn the dial on both sides of the dumbbell to your desired weight and lift. For workouts like p90x (1,2, or 3) and Body Beast, where you have to change weights quickly, they are faster to change out than pulling dumbbells off of a rack. They are by far the best investment I've made I would say in anything. I never write reviews, but I was so happy with this product, I decided to give it a review. Number space saver and beautiful design!
Don't hesitate to snag these adjustable weight sets. They are highly intuitive and engineered to provide a variety of work outs at different weight settings, while at the same time, saving space! Fantastic product. Adjusting to different weight level is super fast and easy (twist of a knob) no lag, I'm talking fast like spinning the knob on a radial lock or cooking dial. Not bulky or awkward at all, very comfortable usage and looks really COOL. No need for the expensive stand to hold these bad boys, they only weigh 105lbs total and a storage bench that could hold at least 150lbs max would suffice. Find one at Costco or online for 20$ that holds at least 150lbs and you won't have to spend 150$+ for the bowflex stand. It's truly a great investment and worth every penny!! Pro: super space saving design gives you ALL the dumbbells in one small unit. Pro: very easy to change weight stack with a turn of the dial. Con: max weight is 52.5 pounds, so not great for pro lifters. Con: built-in safety mechanism has to be seated just right to make weight stack change. Easy to use and compact
Very easy to use and compact in design. The dial in weight setting is smooth and accurate. The only issue is there is a little bit of "play" when you pick them up compared to a normal dumbbell. In other words, the weights aren't completely tight when you pick them up and move a bit when you do curls. You do get used to this quickly however. I Love Them
I was worried that these things would not feel well balanced and make use of them an awkward experience, but I was pleasantly surprised. They've given me an increased choice of weights up to the maximum of 52.5lbs and the changing of weight is smooth and easy. Of course, they're not as strong as a solid hunk of iron and should nor be slammed down, but I seldom did my iron dumbbells that way. Nice, with some minor glitches
Haven’t had it long—got it for my husband for Christmas—arrived promptly and appears to be in new condition. Was difficult to get out of the cradles initially (set of 2 dumbbells)—they were secured with straps set around dumbbell/cradle unit and an (included) Allen wrench was needed to loosen a metal loop so that the strap could be removed. A bit of a process that was not intuitive—hubby had to read the instructions to do it and even then it was a bit challenging. After that, the set looks like it should work well. Gets stuck in the cradle if not placed just so, and hub busters had to find a YouTube video to get it unstuck....But......should be a really helpful product to help get in shape and avoid the public gym!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
