Picking up where NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD left off, and still offering no explanation of why the dead are walking the earth, DAWN OF THE DEAD plunges headlong into one of the most violent and original horror films ever made. After securing an apartment building overcome with flesh-eating zombies, two Philadelphia area SWAT team members, Peter (Ken Foree) and Roger (Scott Reiniger), flee to a television station, where they escape in the station's helicopter with Francine (Gaylen Ross) and Stephen (David Emge), two station employees. Seeking refuge from the zombies and the ensuing hysteria, they land on top of a Pittsburgh area shopping mall, despite the fact that the undead seem to be flocking there. What begins as a stop for supplies becomes a longer stay as the four become embroiled in a futile war within the mall to keep their flesh to themselves and remain alive. The film's relentlessly disturbing and innovative gore effects are one reason to see DAWN OF THE DEAD, but those who can stomach the endless barrage of blood and gnarled zombie faces will be rewarded--and possibly surprised--by what the film says about human nature and life within a consumer-based culture. Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition (2004) Review
Great quality purchase. The 2004 Ultimate Edition is extremely rare to find enough as it is, especially at a fair price and in good condition. Overall the movies themselves are fantastic. With each of the three versions of the films and their own unique take, it’s safe to say that whomever purchases the Ultimate Edition you will be thoroughly satisfied. Special features that are included on the set are over all interesting. The set comes with a fourth disc that goes in depth with the making of the film, interviews with cast and crew, and a tour of the mall where the movie takes place. Other features that are included on the three main disc are Audio Commentaries, Production Stills, Original Trailers, Biographies on the late George A. Romero and Dario Argento, and much more. Again, it’s hard enough getting a hold of this one specific film enough as it is, so getting the Ultimate Edition is pretty risky and can be kind of a challenge, with some sets going for hundreds on eBay. The movie has been out of print in US for about a decade now because of the film’s producer due to his negligence and greed. I recommend actually trying to buy this film anyway you possibly can via video stores or online which can be an obstacle, but if you’re horror fan, zombie fan, or a Romero fan it’ll definitely be worth it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Best deluxe edition ever! Four discs containing the theatrical version, extended version, European version, and documentaries. Compare to the U.S version, the European version plays different music scores. It also came with a comic and index.
