At this price, everyone should have one.
The product is technologically cool. This particular lower priced "wired" RING only uses the doorbell supplied power (15-20v) to power itself. Providing motion detection and time stamped video of any object that comes within the area or parameter you can set up from the app. So your old doorbell chime is disabled. If you want a chime as well as audio notification from your phone you need to order the wireless one and replace your old wall chime. Mostly works, Good Price point.
Although the ring doorbell (wired) works well, it's not perfect. Notifications are sometimes missed or late. Live view does not work (widely reported issue). It seems that all these phone configured devices have issues. I just wish that they would let users configure devices on their own network and not use an "app" for configuration. It takes too much away from the proper configuration of devices. Ring vs Hello
Ring wired vs Google Hello. Both are amazing products. Ring is a better value. Google hello can cost 5 times as much as the ring wired. Installation is simple. Ring's QR code is read better by camera phone. Google Hello response time is faster and the audio is outstanding. If you are on wifi ring is quick. ring has choppy audio. Ring can be installed anywhere with optional 16v ac wall power transformer. I installed my ring on a sling glass door. The ring is almost universally recognized as a video doorbell. the Google hello is well build but people still do not know it is a doorbell that needs to be pressed. I like the ring and wish it was wifi 5G compatible (it is only 2.4G compatible) which means that our microwave interferes with the signal. We had a battery Ring doorbell and the wired unit is 1000% better, with a better camera too. I have installed google hello's at professional business offices where response time is very important. but, for residential consumers the ring is a power house of features and gives an added since of security.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This would be 5 stars a couple years ago , but technology has advanced so much . Do yourself a favor spend a few more bucks and get the latest version . Don't Like Two Doorbells, One Is A Dummy
I think it should really be easy for Ring to design it to work with existing door bell. It is just a matter of opening/closing a sw! But no, you have to buy a new Ring door bell. Ring, No indoor chime
Ring doorbell was very easy to install. One little jumper wire in the old chime and only two existing wires to hook up. App was easy to install and use. My only complaint is that when you ring the doorbell the old inside chime doesn’t work anymore. You must buy a ring chime in order to have a chime in the house. Didn’t exactly want to spend more money.
