About this product

Product Information

If you're looking to add precision and excitement to your gaming experience, consider the Saitek Pro Flight X52 Flight System controller. This device, which consists of a joystick and a throttle, can enhance any PC flight simulator. It's easy to grip and command, and it comes with powerful programming software. There is the upgraded multifunction LCD, which gives players access to in-game data as it's happening. The joystick is easy to adjust, and it can be calibrated to the player's specifications. It also has a dual-spring self-centering mechanism. Also, resistance increases as the stick moves farther from the center, and non-contact technology gives gamers greater accuracy. Control is also enhanced by the 3D twist with rudder lock. This mechanism can be used to disable the twist capabilities, giving users a more traditional simulation experience. This flight control system is designed to easily conform to the user's hands. This is thanks to the advanced grip adjustment system, which adjusts to any hand size. The tension adjustment dial allows users to alter the throttle's resistance levels, thereby changing the nature of flights. The Multifunction Display feature gives gamers access to essential radio stack functions. With the help of downloadable programs, users can even create their own Multifunction Display interactions. When this control is used with a PC, users have access to powerful programming software. This device is compatible with most flight simulation software, most notably Prepar3D 2.2, X-Plane 10, and FSX - Flight Simulator X. It can also be used with combat simulation and space simulation programs such as Rise of Flight, Take on Helicopters, Star Citizen, World of Warplanes, and War Thunder. The Saitek X52 Pro comes with the pro-stick unit, the pro-throttle unit, and two compatible USB connector cables. These perform best when used with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 on computers with at least two USB ports.

  • Upgraded to X52 Pro's

After 9 hard-used yrs. with X-52's, it was time to replace my controllers. I purchased the "Pro's" and after just a small learning curve am glad I did. They are rugged and durable and if they last half as long as the old ones, I'm happy. The only function which the "PRO's" don't do well with and the "X52" do, is the decrease throttle setting in FSX. This is the way to reverse thrust on jets upon landing. I can't figure-out any other way to do it and the "PRO's" only partially and inadvertently accomplish this function. It may very well be the WIN10 operating system to blame, but the old ones worked much better even on WIN10.

  • Great for an old stick.

Despite the age of this product line, it remains the mainstay of combat flight simulation HID. After Saitek got bought up by Madcatz, quality dropped off by a fair but, but used? If you grab one in need of minimal modification for less than $80 you're doing great. Some individuals have difficulty with the factory software and others have problems with stick sensitivity and deadzones. You can buy or make a spring tensioner for the stick to make it feel just right. II prefer heavier stick response but others will doubtlessly find the factory configuration just fine. This stick does great for DCS and Elite: Dangerous. I have not tried it with Star Citizen yet but I imagine it's the same story. I can now play with no assistance from the keyboard or mouse.

  • happy with my purchase

pros: Lots of buttons. easy to setup...windows 10 detects everything automatically. works great in SW Squadrons and ACe combat 7 Cons: too many buttons..takse hours to map all of the controls in your game. (not really a con..its a nice problme to have) flight stick is a littel loose but i heard this s a common complaint. it still works fine in the games i play. adjusting sensitivty to match the looseness of the stick helps the unit i got was sticky..i hear this happens to the rubber on these things. but it felt like someone spilt sometign on it. i sanitzed it and uesd goo gone and disinfectant spray..due to covid i dont take no chances. works fine otherwise. i woudlnt spend 300 bucks on this but for the price i got it for its more than worth it.

  • Takes some getting used to

I have been playing flight/space sim games for a while, but I am not an expert. This is my first HOTAS device and I love it. I have several of the Saitek controlers and have always found them to be great. In fact this HOTAS is probably capable of a lot more than I am. Hard-core flight sim folks may still opt for the top dollar options, but this is plenty for the casual flight around the universe.

  • Learning Curve

Well I received the unit in great shape, with the possibility that it may not work properly. And to find out I had to hunt down a cable for the connection of the stick and throttle control, not being a big deal on the internet days. So week later got my cable and hook it up and all the Fancy lights came on. So all seem to work fine, but since Saitek sold to Logitech it's a bit difficult finding the site for software and SST control testing. For me it took 6 Hrs of bad weather or something O and the Logitech site to fix it's bugs. I finally got the download. I will add if you have any firewall or virus protection, SHUT it OFF for the download. Next is Programing the unit to your specs to different games. Has many axis to learn Baby steps for me whew. Other then that the unit works wonderfully and I enjoy very much. Will have to save up for a X56 I'm thinking by the time I save up I should have gained some experience. Even this X52 was a big leap from a ST 290 Saitek which is a great stick. All and all very lucky to of found a reasonable seller Apstreasures on E-bay. Great item Thank you. Next I need to acquire pedals, chair, and VR for best Simulation, and gain some flying Experience. Final thought wish I would of had this 35 years ago I would be flying a real plane. X52 Best Tool ever.

  • Used at great price, some work required. worth every penny

I love this controller. I had to clean the sticky off the plastic, which just happens to rubberized plastic, nbd. I also had to grease the moving parts, also expected and nbd. I've been using it two weeks now in Elite Dangerous and Squadrons and it's amazing

  • Great Flight System for the $$

Love this flight system. I was initially looking for the Pro version and realized that ebay is filled with people misrepresenting the regular x52 as a x52Pro (black with angled screen) and people were buying them for the Pro price! Anyway, onto the flight system. Upon checking, there isn't much difference other then cosmetics between the x52 and x52 Pro so i bought this one based on great reviews, cost, and the honesty of the seller stating this is not a Pro version. I have no regrets, this is fantastic for whatever flight/space game you want to play. The feel of the controls are great, very responsive not to mention how it looks all lit up (glows blue). You can't go wrong with this system.

  • great air stick for air-to-air battles

Great flight stick has almost everything I need to play realistic air-to-air battle games with. I own the rudder pedals as well and if you do not own these along with the flight stick then its almost useless to get the full real controls for a realistic air-to-air game.
