Weighing just 6.7 oz, this Olympus camera lens will not add a lot of weight to a digital camera. The Olympus camera lens can focus in on objects just 9.8-inches from it, so close-up pictures will always come out clear. A very good compromise

I had the 25mm Olympus lens matched with my E420 for portability, probably the smallest combination for a real SLR Camera, which I much prefer. However, the single focus length was too restrictive. This 14-42 mm lens gives much greater flexibility for only a marginal weight and size difference and the aperture range is adequate. I also saved money!

great lens, bad surprise from Olympus

I love this lens, it is the old model, and I hope it to be more durable than the other two who I bought before ( newer models) and stop to work with an ERROR CODE after being tired to complain with OLYMPUS trough an uneducated agent, I previously google some forums and found many complains for the same reason, I decide to buy this older model to avoid the same surprise. The lens is GREAT, when still working...

  • Olympus Zuiko 14mm-42mm zoom lens ED F/3.5-5.6

Good lens for the cost, higher optical quality than I was lead to believe. I'm quite satisfied with it for what it is, a low cost convenient compact zoom lens to use as an all around lens on any of the 4/3rds digital format cameras. Since the casing is plastic, it would be easy to break the mounting tabs if you were to drop or hit the lens hard on a surface. But then as with any optical items, care should be used.

  • Like all but one thing

It is sharp, easy to zoom and the price is good; but, the one thing I don't like about it is that it has to be manually collapsed after each use, annoying. For that reason alone, I have ordered the equivalent Panasonic and will be selling the Olympus,

  • Surprisingly good tiny lens

This lens I bought is not as in the auction description. The photos in the auction were of the pancake M. Zuiko 14-42 EZ electronic zoom lens and that is what i bought. It is as good as any of the Olympus kit lenses in a tiny package. It makes my OM D E M10 look really retro, someone asked me yesterday if I was using film, he had a full frame Canon with a lens that looked like a cannon. I used to be like that with a Canon camera and bag full of heavy lenses but no more. I had the Olympus 14-54 lens on this camera for a while but decided that the plastic lenses of Olympus where better for me especially when backpacking and travelling light. At 70 years old I am not a fanatical photographer I take scenery and buildings when travelling in Europe and at home in New Zealand I take the wildlife, birds, flowers and family. If like me you want to save both weight and packing space then this is a good lens for you too.

  • compact and does the job well

I can't assess its durability at this point, but it's small and lightweight and takes sharp images. I'd recommend it.

  • Zoom lens for Olympus E-PL1

Although I bought the PL1 body as a photomicroscopy camera, I decided to get this lens for it anyway. I have had little occasion to use it, but the images are sharp, and the lens functions are easily handled.

  • The missing lens from my collection...

I have a 75 and 150. This close up lens is great for documenting some of my DIY engineering related to my planted fish tanks.

  • Good match for a first lens!

Paired this up with a Blackmagic Micro Cinema 4K and it works well enough.

  • Great deal.

Excellent price & the lens did't show any signs of being used. It even came with an unadvertised "tulip" lens hood.
