Very fast extender when paired with other Nighthawk tri-band routers

Dissapointing
I've set up a few routers, and found the procedure somewhat difficult. Download an app to your cell phone and use that to set up, connect via ethernet cable to initialize, etc. etc. This one is no different. Take an hour or two. For the price, I expected a dramatic increase in range. I didn't get that. In fact, based on signal strength app, it was no better than a less expensive extender I was already using. Not great for use with Netgear Nighthawk Routers - crashed my network repeatedly
This thing really struggles to work with other Netgear Routers. I have a Netgear Nightwawk R7000. It connected, got everything started, but then throughout the day it'll just drop out & not work. When it works, it's totally awesome! 200 Mbps clear across the house & out in the garage (4200 sq/ft home), but when it doesn't work, oh my! It crashed my entire network multiple times. Even my wired LAN connections got locked up. It'd reassign IP addresses that were already assigned, it'd drop a connection, or it just wouldn't work at all. When it works, it's the bomb, but when it doesn't--watch out! It's like a train wreck on your network. Wish it would've worked. I loved it when it did. But it was too unreliable. (I've read somewhere that it really struggles to assign IP addresses correctly --doesn't coordinate the DHCP with the router well)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very good extender. Getting more can help you put them together like a mesh system. The only problem I’ve had with them is the ping rate when gaming. I’ve tested it between two houses, and I can confirm if your internet is not up to par expect your extender to have a very high ping rate unless you are hardwired. As you know extenders cut the bandwidth in half when using them. I’ve tested one on an xfinity network and one on ATT. The xfinity was very excellent, no ping whatsoever as I had the extender right by my console. ATT was also great and it is near my console. I’ve had issues with it at first but once you go through your settings and figure out what’s the issue it’s a very nice product when used. The only other quarrels that I’ve had with it, is it not loading up in the nighthawk app that you have to use the browser wifiext site to login and check its settings. Should be a 4 star, but it’s a 5 star from me.

Took a bit to get it to work...
No ethernet cable, but I already had several. All lights flashing at first. Eventually, managed to get it to work. You need to wait for awhile, probably updating, defaults to one or two lights, then install as new device with "mywifiext" (see Netgear site)Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Interface works well but flaky connections. Could not use it because of constant disconnects.
This Range Extender Constantly Disconnects devices and they can't reconnect. I updated the Firmware on both the Nighthawk Router and this Nighthawk EX8000 and ended up using a cheap basic Netgear Range Extender EX6150 which works fine. I was a Network Administrator and there are lots of complaints about this Range Extender and not working with the R7000 Nighthawk Router Firmware and the R7000 Netgear Nighthawk Router no longer supporting Ready Share DLNA Server and Time Machine!!! Strongest Extender On The Market
I have set this extender up to provide continuous WiFi connection for my rental properties in my backyard. Not only is the signal strong, but covers almost the entire acre of the property. At the source, I am able to read 75/10 Mbs. At the edge of my driveway 225 feet away, I am able to read 30 /5 Mbs. The extender was in great condition when I received it. My house is future proof now.
I’ve upgraded from the nighthawk AC1900 wifi extender and I noticed a significant difference. My router is upstairs and most of all I need is downstairs but My wifi is stronger downstairs and I’m able to stream tv shows/movies faster. And connecting to my wifi doorbell is instantaneous as well as connecting to my personal cloud server in my huge home of close to 3,000 sqft.
