For 50 years, The White Album has invited it's listeners to venture forth and explore the breadth and ambition of it's music, delighting and inspiring each new generation in turn. This is the first time The Beatles (White Album) has been remixed and presented with additional demos and session recordings. The album's sweeping new edition follows 2017's universally acclaimed Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Anniversary Edition releases. To create the new audio mixes for The White Album, Martin and Okell worked with an expert team of engineers and audio restoration specialists at Abbey Road Studios in London. "In remixing The White Album, we've tried to bring you as close as possible to The Beatles in the studio," explains Giles Martin in his written introduction for the new edition. "We've peeled back the layers of the 'Glass Onion' with the hope of immersing old and new listeners into one of the most diverse and inspiring albums ever made."

Interesting remix, essential demos
I suppose people can debate some of the choices Giles Martin made in his remix of the White Album. I have a lot of White Albums: Japanese and UK mono edittions, US and UK stereo editions, early and later pressings, a very nice sounding German Direct Metal Master, CD, LP, etc. I’m not sure I’d call the Giles Martin mix my favorite, but you do get to hear more drums and bass, and along the way certain things jump out at you. So it’s interesting to hear. But what I am sure I will be spinning on the turntable is the Esher demos, which sound MUCH better than any version I’ve heard previously. It’s an amazing production, all the way down to the Apple demo labels. I suppose it would have been a nice detail for these lps to get numbered covers (they saved that touch for the deluxe 6 CD set), but that’s a minor quibble. To have the Esher demos in great sound quality and on vinyl is a very good thing, indeed, and while I might direct people to the Direct Metal Master to hear the White Album proper on vinyl, there’s no other way to get those beautiful sounding demos on vinyl but here.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The best Beatles album even better
This beautifully packaged 4 LP set seems under-priced considering the price for the 3 LP Anniversary release of Abbey Road. Along with many other fans, this was and still is my favorite Beatles album. And with this Anniversary set, the best is even better!! The sound quality is fantastic. Incredible box set for an unbelievable proce
I've been listening to the new remasters and esher tapes from the whit album for a while so I know I wanted to buy the 4xLP box set eventually. When I saw it for half the usual price, I jumped at the chance and bought it. To my amazement it arrived with zero issues. It looks and sounds so great. Maybe the best album ever released just got better.
The most exciting, varied and political release of the year, even if it was made a half century ago. The two dual record sets compliment each other nicely. The extras are almost, but not exactly like the original pictures and poster (my original 1968 pictures and poster were slightly more glossy). No individual number stamp on this new vinyl set, nor is there a book (I thought it had been advertised with a sixteen page one similar to the 2009 CD release) but there is a folder-sleeve which can be used to contain the extras. The box that contains everything is excellent. No room for much else inside, although I may keep my original Apple 45 of Hey Jude/Revolution in it. Don't forget to save the sticker on the shrink wrap; I stuck mine on the back cover. And I'm not getting rid of my original mono copy or the original stereo mix either, because they all sound different.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The New Beatles!
Remastered and reveals so much more detail than the original recording! I just finished recording the album digitally at 96Khz/24bit and the sound is perfect! Looking forward to listening without degrading the vinyl from here on out!
