    Good sound, reasonable price

The sound of the amp is great for what it is. probably about the closest you can get to an amp+cab setup with a combo amp, at least for a reasonable price. One thing to note is that if you're looking to get this amp, you should definitely get tone studio on your laptop or pc. The knobs on the amp are like 10% of the actual things you can do with it, everything else is in tone studio. So far I have no complaints about the amp, it does exactly what I expected it to (and quite well I would say). Well I suppose if I had to come up with a con of the amp, the controls are on the top which can be annoying at times.

    Not what expected

Amp is very trebly and a bit harsh in all channels except clean. Tried bringing down treble and bringing up low and mid but does not sound right. Takes away the oomph.

  • Big, loud, and actually quite flexible

You can't get much more awesome sauce than a Boss Katana. Regardless of which wattage you pick, you're going to have a very complete package. But you should definitely go for the 100W version, because you'll get a HUGE sound once thought impossible from a combo amp. Even with only half a watt (because you can select that) it screams. Turn it up louder, and it roars. I recorded some audio onto my PC, then played it back using this amp while I was playing my drums, and had zero problem hearing it, even on the throne in the thick of the noise. As for effects...well, I've played with it for days, using my PC and the on-board hardware, and it amazes me just how much sound you can yank out of this thing. And it's far, far more easy to use than other multi-effects combo amps, because thick knobs and colored LEDs are far more intuitive to use than a tiny little LCD with more sub-menus than a BMW iDrive system. And there's an effects loop in there if that isn't even enough for you. Even if a 100W combo amp isn't enough for you to gig with, this thing is more than enough to record with. And for that reason, it gets 5 stars from me!

  • Great Amp

This amp sounds great. Many different amp styles and effects. Easy to use. Most importantly, it's a 100 watt amp that's lightweight.

  • Great all around amp

Katana 100 has all the controls and inputs you need for it to be very versatile without plugging it into your computer and at the same time it's not overwhelming. There is no need to read the manual - everything is intuitive and self explanatory. You can dial in great sound in seconds, from cleans to metal. I believe at this price point it's the best amp for home practice and even gigging.

  • Light weight with all the features and positive feedback sold me.

My main concern is it good for country and so far it's as good as any tube amp I have and half the weight...I had to buy the EXP pedal which everyone seems to recommend...I have a Roland xl-40 and it is a great little amp, I hope the Boss lives up to the hype..
