Excellent speed and features + Disney Circle

I've had it going for a few days now and I'm very pleased. I'm getting excellent speed and range compared to my previous router. Far corners of my house that previously had weak signals are now able to access the internet easily. And the Disney Circle parental controls are excellent. It's great because you don't have to buy the separate Circle device, so you're essentially saving about $100 while getting great simple to use web filtering and other features. I think Netgear also has one of the easier to use admin interfaces. You have a simplified view if you aren't much of a tinkerer or an advanced view for those who feel more confident in more granular control of their WiFi and networking.

    limited.

why does netgear still lock dhcp to the class c network range the router is on? many of us run class a or b private networks and this breaks our net design. please unlock the dhcp for class a and b networks. please also get rid of the internet required setup! oi... sandbox setup is so hard when required to setup via netgear dot com gaarith ‎2020-01-04 05:03 PM Re: r7000p nighthawk dhcp locked also please get rid of the per setup page reboot! why can you not ram cache the setting changes and do a single reboot? Message 2 of 5 ‎2020-01-04 06:21 PM Re: r7000p nighthawk dhcp locked You do not need to use apps fpr management of the router. You can use a PC. Open a browser window and go to 191.168.1.1. Go to netgear and put in your router model. This will take you to where you can download firmware and also a user manual. In there it will tell you about using a browser and also how to do a IMHO recommended way to manually update the firmware. As far as classes for IP addresses, keep in mind this is a consumer grade router with a max of 32 devices per wireless channel for example so you are not going to run out of IP addresses. What you are asking for is commerical grade which these definitely are not. Message 3 of 5 Success! • Excellent Router for a decent price

I've been using my R7000 for the past few weeks now and haven't encountered any issue. WiFi signal is strong and haven't encountered dropped connection. I'm running R7000 behind Verizon's Quantum router and port forwarding configuration works great. I am able to access a website hosted inside R7000's subnet on one Rpi3, and also a motion camera on another Rpi3 unit, from outside my network (I'm viewing my Rpi3 motion camera on my phone while i'm at work). Overall, easy to configure. I'm running stock router firmware. I also turned off LED lights (from the router settings) because it's quite bright.

  • Great router

I've had no issues since seeing up this router. I like the smart wifi feature that gives you both band of wifi frequencies under one name. No separate 2.4 and 5 GHz names in your list of available options. Range seems better than my previous Linksys router.

  • NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2300 Smart Wi-Fi Router (R7000P-100NAS)

easy to setup. each port has it own light, so you know which cable has a problem or not. don't panic if doing setup it says that" serial # already registered. Netgear will let you change the old password to your own. Remember 5G is accessible with devices that are 5G capable. this model transmit 2.4G and 5G.

  • Nice router for a mid size apartment

Excellent router and has lots of feature. It comes by default with Disney's circle application integrated in it. Setup was quick and it was up and running in very short window. Range is reasonably well. Overall happy with the purchase

  • WIFI security, reliable, and easy to setup with Netgear App.

I gave 4 stars because I have a little trouble to begin the setup manually. Once I have download the Netgear app, the app walks through the setting step by step. It also checks the firmware to ensure the router is up-to-date prior installing.

  • Good product.

Fast, but somewhat difficult to set up. Keeps asking for serial number. Say what? You almost have to disconnect it to get to the serial number. Other than that, a good products. I have been able to disconnect all my network extenders as this router covers the whole house.

  • Good router

I needed it to reach my basement firestick. I have 100 MBS from my provider, but was only getting 10-15 from my previous router. With this one I get around 30, so it does got through concrete, and so that good stuff it says it does. It could be better, but over all I'm satisfied. I'm not sure there is a router that will do much better. Hooked straight to the router I only get 60-70. When I first bumped my MBS up o was getting almost the entire 100, but I guess the provider seem I was using a firestick, and slowed my service down, or so in told they do anyway.
