Surefire Red Light Filter Not Adequate For Higher Output Lights
This press on red light filter has a plastic lens. While it may be adequate for lower lumen lights, it cannot handle the heat generated by more modern lights with higher outputs. The plastic lens has bubbled and distorted when used with my 800 lumen Surefire Tactician. I later used it extensively with my 500 lumen Streamlight ProTac 2L X. The lens distortion caused by the 800 lumen light didn't appear to worsen with the 500 lumen light. Perhaps it will work well with 500 lumen or less output lights. Surefire needs to clearly label and list the output limit on this product.
