This Polk Audio db1240 12-inch automotive subwoofer is composed of high-quality materials and a laser-optimized motor structure that serves to provide powerful bass response and audio quality. The Polk Audio car subwoofer features a stiff polypropylene woofer cone that is attached to a Santoprene surround that works to minimize that passage of air in and out of the speaker cabinet, resulting in the provision of tighter low-end frequencies. Santoprene is a durable rubber material that is moisture, heat, and sun damage-resistant that additionally aids in the marine certification of the Polk Audio car subwoofer. The Polk Audio db1240 provides coverage for low-end frequencies of 27-200 Hz with a sensitivity of 88 dB. This 12-inch automotive subwoofer can handle continuous RMS power output of 50-360 RMS watts and peak output of up to 720 watts. The 4-Ohm Polk Audio car subwoofer has a top-mount depth of 6.1 inches and is recommended for use in sealed enclosures with a minimum volume of 0.9 cubic feet or ported enclosures of 1.5 cubic feet.
