    Desert Island Cookbook

    This compact but surprisingly complete book is like Julia's Cliff's Notes-- so many of her classic recipes and techniques in such a small and unassuming package. For decades, the BBC has broadcast "Desert Island Discs", which interviews a prominent person as to what 10 discs s/he'd take along. If you are downsizing or leaving for a desert island and can have only one Julia cookbook, this is the one to pack.
