NotesAfter writing decades of Contemporary Christian music, I found myself drawn to write songs for the New Thought religious movement -- a healing and empowering metaphysical religious movement that came out of mainline Christianity. I was inspired by their practice of looking at the good in all things and boldly embracing the loving and empowering qualities of God in ways that truly changed people's lives. So I began writing lyrics that reflected their positive and empowering theology but that were also compatible with progressive Christian theology. New Thought musicians are working hard to provide the world with songs that empower people to live life more fully, more positively, and more connected to God. I've often said that this movement is living out the Resurrection Power of Christ. I intend to do the same with my music. My intention for Evolve was to create a musically interesting CD that promotes new and refreshing ways of looking at the world.
