These are workhorse reels
It's body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the actions directly into cranking power with efficient strength. The reel never requires maintenance just an occasionally drop of oil in the worm gear and spool axle. .A little harder to dial in than other models, but once done is absolutely amazing. The casting distance is insane, this is my furthest casting reel, then I replaced the bearings... casts even further now. I highly recommend this reel for the money and performance! This is another outstanding reel. It cast great, smooth drag, smooth retrieving and casting, great breaking system, and the thumbar is great I don't think it feels cheap yea it is different than previous models..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Can’t go wrong with a Curado
I have at least 10 of these reels in different gear ratios and they are reliable work horses on my cranking and bladed rods. Which the drag was heavier for my heavier jig, punching and frog rods. Overall a great all around reel.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Best reel ever
I am a every day fisherman I have many Shimano reels some costing 750.00 but this is hands down my ew favorite. Fantastic Reel for inshore and fresh water!
I started fishing Shimano Citica and Curado reels twenty years ago after wade fishing for speckled trout and redfish along the Texas coast with my brother-in-law. He had a "green reel" (earlier curado), and I had my favorite which began to sieze up on me. Even though I did not want to spend the high dollars for the Curado, I did for myself and for my now deceased wife. Best bang for the buck reel out there period!
For what you pay and what you get you would have to be a tournament fisherman to see advantages of reels more expensive than this. Best reel on the market
This was my third curado and they are sweet. Plenty of adjustment to dial in to each bait individually. Cast with confidence lighter weights and heavy, plenty of meat to handle any situation. Used for bass to flounder, big reds and trout.
