Great Experience - Note to those worried about simulation sickness

Sony has done a fantastic job with the Playstation VR headset. Took only minutes to set up, the VR headset is light and comfortable, my TurtleBeach Stealth 520 headset fit comfortably on top (so you dont have to use earbuds). VR is so fun, having an affordable option brings this incredible experience into my home. I had a lot of motion sickness when I was younger - especially when travelling in the back seat of a car. I have experienced some simulation sickness as well. None of the VR Worlds games/demos made me feel ill. The game that made me feel nautious first was the rez infinite demo. When the game started to take rapid jumps and track changes, I had to stop playing. I got the worst simulation sickness from driveclub VR but it seemed to mainly be my fault. I had no trouble driving through the first three laps and actually managed to get into first place, but towards the end of my third lap I took a turn too hard and spun out. When I tried to recenter myself I ended up overcorrecting and doing a couple of donuts. Thats when the simulation sickness hit me. Other games like Eve Valkyrie and Rigs gave me slight feelings of simulation sickness if I did fast maneuvers but as long as I was either chewing gum or had a fan blowing on my room I was able to play these games without any issues. My plan is to slowly increase my exposure to the VR environment over time and take breaks (especially after fast paced gameplay). Don't rush it and try to MLG everything right off of the start. For those of you worried about simulation sickness, I hope my experience helps you to make a more educated purchase decision. Although I do get slight simulation sickness from the more fast-paced games, the experience is well worth it. I would recommend that you try out Playstation VR before purchasing, especially for people that get motion sickness/sea sickness. But for me, as someone who has no problems with sea sickness and only moderate problems with motion sickness - Playstation VR is 100% worth it. Very happy with my lightly used purchase from ebay. Shop with confidence!

Great introductory product for VR, but not for people who appreciate details.

I would say this is great for people who are just getting started with virtual reality. With the PSVR, you can play games in VR and stream content like you're in a virtual theater with a huge screen. I think for people that have a bit more experience or very into the details, they'll notice the lower resolution of the goggles too much. It really bothered me. Other than that, I didn't think there was a significant latency issue.

  • Great item, but be ABSOLUTELY sure before you buy one.

These headsets actually work really well for the most part. It seems to be that if you're having an issue, it's either due to your PS4 camera positioned incorrectly or it's poor game designing from the game you're attempting to play. The only real issue I have with these headsets is that they seem to be designed for one size person only. If your head is slightly too big, then the headset will not sit comfortably. If your head is slightly too small, the weight of the VR will cause it to always fall forward. They are built to last, but the design itself doesn't seem to have been thought out well.

  • Playstation VR Headset!

I must say, sony did an amazing job with the VR headset and I can't wait to see what other games comes out in VR! I just picked up Resident Evil 7 and it is absolutely insane and scary!! Being in the game, the level of detail is amazing!!! Def worth picking up. It can make you a lil dizzy if you play it too long but its the real deal! I also have the 1TB PS4 Pro with a 4K TV so the graphics is unbelievable!!! I def recommend buying a VR, you will not be disappointed!! My son tried it and B-Lined towards the TV because he thought he was in the game lol, thats how real it is!! BUY ONE PEOPLE!

  • Technology has one great advance in VR

The pros are that the headset is very light and easy to set up for your style and needs. It is extremely comfortable, well designed, and easy to adjust the fine settings. Sony has many VR games available now and I believe gives them a heads up on the competition in this area. VR comes with and without motion controllers so I suggest you make sure you have them as they are necessary for some games. Suggest the PlayStation4 Pro; though any PlayStation 4 will work on 500GB or 1TB.

  • Top quality VR experience! Without being too hard on the wallet

While it's a 4-year-old product at this time, the resolution and OLED display were serviceable enough to completely immerse me into the PS4's wide array of VR games. The library is jam-packed with top-quality games which is why I recommend this VR platform more than any other for casual gamers who want to easily enter a complete, enjoyable VR ecosystem.

  • VR isn't the right term, but this is awesome!

I'll admit I was skeptical until my fiance walked in the living room and Mortal Blitz had me crouched down beside a recliner, leaning out to blast bad guys and leaning back in to reload! The PSVR is immersive and an excellent purchase if you can deal with 2 flaws. The resolution is lower than it should be, and I'm guessing this is because the PS4 lacks in GPU horsepower is the reason why - don't think this will ever get fixed, not until there is new hardware anyway. It isn't too low to look awesome and enjoy though. When you get into whatever you're playing it becomes a non issue, except when text is hard to read. The second thing to be aware of is if you perspire at all during gameplay the lens will fog up. You have to pull the helmet off and wipe them down then you're good to go. Other than that, this is GREAT! Think of this as VR revision: 1, because that's what it is. Is it the greatest thing ever? No. Is it perfect? No. However it's well worth the 400 bucks and in no way do I regret it. I've played several hours now and look forward to having more time to do so in the future. This is a great step forward for gaming, let's hope they continue to develop it!

  • VR?

Well it works enough to be fun and engaging but at the same time you can tell the product was rushed to meet demands of the HTC Vice and Oculus Rift. Money wise this is usually the best bet to get the cheapest. The other competition while more expensive tho is also better. A psvr on sale is the best value because one of these for 300 in my opinion isn’t happening. The tracking is glitchy, screen is blurry, and there aren’t as many games as the competition so 300 is too much of a asking price for one of these. That being said those really are they only faults it has. The game library while limited is great and only a few games REALLY have the tracking problem bad. Plus there’s a cinematic mode where you can play any video games in and it’s like being in a pitch black room with a new 80 inch tv. So in the end if you want VR, but don’t have the money to afford the top class stuff and don’t have a good PC this is your only and best option.

  • The future of console gaming starts here

I can't wait until more developer realize the potential of the VR experience. This was designed for anything you can do in first-person; shooters, driving games, hell I'd even like to see Madden or NHL done in first person! The total immersion into the environment makes games like Resident Evil 7 or Until Dawn: Rush of Blood some of the most terrifying moments I have ever had in gaming! Dirt Rally is that much more realistic and slightly easier to control because you don't have to rely on the camera to be able to keep your eyes on the road! I didn't think I would use the Move controllers but dual wielding guns in Rush of Blood just doesn't work with the regular Dual Shock controller. This is a must have if you own a PS4. I bought a PS4 just for this and I don't regret it!

  • Amazing!

This is truly an amazing gaming experience, and adds a whole new dimension and often at times thought I was literally there. The first game I played was Resident Evil 7, and that scene when you're getting attacked by a knife was horrifying! I literally thought she was about to stab my eye with that big knife! I really think this was a smart investment. I have the PS4, not the Pro or Slim and I might have to upgrade. My brother played the Batman game and said it looked good, but when I played with Resident Evil I noticed it wasn't as sharp as it was on my 4K TV. So I'm assuming on the Pro it would look so much better. Either way, I love my purchase!
