Strong story and Production
This is a totally compelling story & the original film image is clear. The cost was good with free freight. Only one problem, the disc is transferred in 1:66:1 Ratio so, is not playable in the full-widescreen 16x9 image format. To achieve this, the Disc needs to be in 1:85:1 (for full-screen playback). The supplier, Inetvideo Canada did not specify this information in their add - they also advertise a UA/AFI Anniversary edition (again with no ratio details specified in add) When I wrote to them (twice) to check the transfer ratio of the Anniversary edition they did not bother to reply to either note - so, disappointed with their follow up communication. I also bought a copy of this movie from Film Classic Store Australia and while it's in 16x9 format, it's not an original 'studio' disc, so the image and sound are somewhat substandard. I can fully recommend the movie for story, performances, and production values, so if you don't need the full widescreen 16x9 image you won't be as disappointed as I was. Still, I would like to establish the ratio of the AFI edition...?
