Scary Movie
Kevin Williamson brought back the slasher genre from the dead when he wrote this movie. As a result, the slasher genre got a badly needed reboot. After all, the characters in this film are smart and witty. They're savvy when it comes to clichés. They have personalities and back stories. What's more, sympathy is supposed to be with the people being targeted by the slasher and not the slasher himself.
