Perfect after replacing the pins
These are great except for the four clevis pins that come with this kit. A big annoyance is their keychain rings as they are a hassle to remove and reattach onto the pins whenever working with strut springs. Those rings become tedious and hurt your nails after a while. The pins’ spring loaded socket balls, like those found in ratchet wrenches, that help lock the compressed spring into place eventually give out. Once the balls do go, the clevis pins no longer hold into place as they tend to shift radially, outwardly away from the spring. This makes the tool no longer safe to work with anymore. Even when the balls did work as intended, the pins can still be accidentally knocked out of place fairly easily. These balls break and fail over time as they get crushed from the compressed spring ... These are great except for the four clevis pins that come with this kit. These balls break and fail over time as they get crushed from the compressed spring leveraging against the pins. However, I still recommend this kit as the tool design itself is fundamentally safe. It just needs some tweaking and modifications. The clevis pins should be replaced with (4x) four 5/16-in (diameter) x 2.5-in (length) universal clevis pins [the ones with a row of cotter pin holes] and (8x) eight 3/32-in x 1-5/8-in hitch pin clips. The cheapest sets I found were [part # : WWG-CLPUZ-012 ] made by ValueBrand sold by Zoro for the universal clevis pins and [part # : 138708 ] made by Hillman sold in Lowes. Not only do these replacement parts maintain the integrity of the locking mechanism, the hitch pin clips make it easier and faster to remove and reinstall the pins without compromising safety. See the attached picture showcasing the tools with the pins and clips.

The Best, and the Safest!
This is the one used by the "Pro's", with the safety pins. My local Auto Supply rents them for over $60.00, and then refunds the cost when returned. They also SELL them at the SAME price. I just figured that for your price, I'd go ahead, and purchase my own set! Thanx Gb bg

This is a strong compressor and the safety pins add some security to what can be a potentially dangerous application. I did not give it 5 stars due to the fact that the size of the end fittings do not allow for managing a snug fit toward the ends of the coil springs where tolerances/spaces are tighter. I actually ended up using another set of compressors in conjunction with these that enabled me to extend reach/compression.This is a strong compressor and the safety pins add some security to what can be a potentially dangerous application. Nice tool and a great value.
This is a good quality tool and the safety pins are a nice feature. The only minor problem I had was that the flat heads on the end of the pins didn't clear the spring diameter of my Mustang strut. Just a slight tap with a hammer and they worked fine. The construction is robust and much better than other tools I found online or have used in the past. I smeared a little grease on the threads before using the tool and it worked great.This is a good quality tool and the safety pins are a nice feature. Good product but...
This product is great durable and is of good quality but one problem. These are designed for coilover style springs. The springs I needed to remove were separate from the struts. The design of these were far too large for the application I needed them for but for someone with an all on one suspension design these are perfect.
