Great Saw For The Rural Homeowner
This is not a professional grade saw, that being said, for the average homeowner or small property owner that has to maintain any trees this saw is an excellent choice. If you follow the directions to the T and insure your brake lock is off (if you can see the red plastic brake connector then it is on, pull firmly backwards on the paddle in front of the saw handle on top, that will reset the brake to off) Mine started with little effort and has performed flawlessly on several outings so far. All chains will loosen after use, it's the nature of the beast so to speak, so don't think something is wrong if you have to tighten up the chain a few times before it settles in. I've been using chainsaws for over 30 years so I did remove the little guard on the tip but I highly recommend that if you know nothing about chainsaw safety techniques then you should leave it on until you get time to find some instruction and some may even then decide that for their usage they might prefer it on, it just gets in the way when cutting larger than 18' log diameters. This saw is a joke I have an old Poulan and it worked 10 times better then this saw. You have to pull the cord quite a few times before it start and it will run for two cuts then start to stall.
