    More about designing and projects

    This book gives brief overviews on stranded knitting, intarsia and double knitting but does not go into depth. For example, there are 17 pages on stranded knitting. If you want to learn about technique, get her earlier book. If you want a quick refresher and to learn about design and try out color work projects, then get this one. Melissa includes 16 pages of sample 2 color stranded charts that can be used to add pizzazz to a plain sweater with simple bands or lots and lots of bands and I don’t recall seeing any that would require catching floats in most yarn weights. For each of the techniques (stranded, intarsia, double knitting) she includes a section reviewing the technique, how to design with the technique, and projects featuring that technique.     My knitting book library is large, and I think seriously before purchasing anymore books and/or patterns. I am so glad I found the deal on this book!     Just what I was looking for as I wanted to learn to do double sided knitting. Very good book for learning to do color knitting. There are 12 projects and 3 different ways to do color knitting. Over 200 stitch pattern grafts.
