        Light M&P Thumb Safety

        This is what my M&P 2.0 needed. It is old school for sure but with a round chambered, for me, a must. There are two camps of opinion on thumb safety’s. I am used to a safety on auto’s and have found that a quick flick off on presentation takes no more time than if I did not have the safety. The added assurance the safety offers me was well worth the price. Super easy installation and it works well. One problem with it hence the four stars, the spring is a bit light. I have found my safety clicked off a bunch by my holsters when holstering my autos. The spring is really to light with little resistance to bumps by clothing, holsters, or really any pressure to the on/off thumb safety. So, all in all, I am happy to have the functioning safety but keep an eye on it.

        This is all you need to install a safety on your M&P.

        Exactly what was need to add a thumb safety to my pistol. All parts look like S&W factory parts and they function perfectly.

        Works great, easy to install

        Worked fine, installed easily. Just be sure your M&P is one of the ones which does not have the lock in the frame where the safety would be. For the ones without the safety, but with the provision for it, the addition is really simple.

        S&W M&P Thumb Safety replacement unit

        Direct install for M&P pistols without thumb safety. However, only works on those models with knockout plastic tab on side of lower receiver housing. Will not work on Pro Core models with lock on side of receiver. The sear mechanism is not compatible.
