Absolutely Necessary for Nkon Z Cameras
This is an essential accessory for the Nikon Z camera system if you want to use your existing F-mount lenses. It adds no distortion. bus allows the electronic signals to move between the lens and the camera for proper operation, including Auto Focus It works perfectly with AF-S and AF-P lenses. Unfortunately, it does not allow Auto Focus with older AF lenses, but I do not have those, so no issue here. A must if you have a collection of expensive glass
It really seems to depend on what legacy lenses you have, tor maybe if you have legacy lenses. It actually works pretty seamless with my Tamron 24-70mm 2.8, for photography, haven't tried out for video, but I also have a pretty old 180mm prime that though aperture works focus does not even try, yet it worked fine on my D600 and D750. Of course it is very useful if you have a collection of expensive glass, but actually I am very pleased and impressed with the clarity of the 24-70 f4 "kit" lens on the Z7.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A Must Have Item
The new mirror less world is here to stay, the adapter is essential and works great with older but great lenses, some people go with the new S lenses for many reasons, one is for the silent zoom for video, I shoot a lot of landscapes and that’s definitely not an issue. I will also use my Z7 for some 8K time lapses, where that, again, wouldn’t be an issue. Should be standard
Works great on my Z6 for adapting F mount glass, Nikon should really give these free with all Z system cameras to increase the adoption rate of the new bodies. I have tested it on both Nikon glass and third party lenses (Tamron, and Tokina) and they all work. Works fine with AF-S lenses
Works fine with AF-S lenses that include internal focus motor. Does not auto focus with older lenses with the screwdriver type focus. Seems rather expensive, but it apparently has internal electronics. It did work perfectly with my 18-200 nikon zoom. Have not tried it with non Nikon lensesVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The adapter allows one to use F lenses on the Z camera body. For the newest lenses it works perfectly. For older lenses AF does not operate, as does lenses by Tokina, which do not focus either. One has to do this manually.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great value and functionality
Excellent adapter. I've tested it with my F mount lenses and so far did not have any issues. For me the biggest advantage to using mirrorless cameras is their ability to focus people and objects quickly and with great accuracy. This adapter allows me to use my old lenses and get sharp in-focus images with almost no effort.
