Let the color fade first
I ended up mermaid blue unintentionally. I used clarifying shampoo to fade it for several weeks, then used this to try to remove the pigment that was left. It came out of the lengths and lightened at the roots. It didn't leave my hair dried out. I am going to use this before I color the next time.
