About this product

Product Information

Notable for being the first Zelda game launched with a Nintendo platform, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii is an enhanced version of the GameCube title with a new control scheme. Players guide the elfin Link with both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers as he fights to save Hyrule from a shadowy new threat, one that has cast a crippling darkness over the once vibrant land and its surrounding areas. Link has a few new powers up his tunic's sleeve, however, as he can transform into a wolf with the help of a mysterious animal friend named Midna.

Familiar elements from previous Zelda games have made the transition to Twilight Princess, albeit with new twists afforded by the motion-sensor controls. As players explore puzzle-filled dungeons, they will shake, point, pull back, and tilt their controllers to throw boomerangs, fire arrows, launch a hookshot, swing a sword, and more. Link can even continue his battles on horseback, running at full gallop into packs of mounted enemies. Twilight Princess also includes several optional mini-games, from canoeing to herding to fishing. The latter has players flicking the Wii Remote to cast the line and then jerking it back to reel the fish in.

    Lives up to Zelda's standard

Wii controls echo and improve upon gameplay seen in the previous 3D Zelda titles. Various items make for fun and dynamic fighting and puzzle-solving. Nearly every boss serves a wonderfully varied and well-constructed battle; if Ocarina of Time had a weakness, in my opinion, it's that the boss fights in the latter half of the game were, while still challenging, too monotonous. This game caters to fighters, explorers, puzzlers, collectors and score chasers alike, with the healthy dosage of sidequests, mini-games, secrets and challenges typical to Zelda. The story is fairly well constructed, with distinct and likeable characters. I found some of the dialogue and cutscenes to be slightly melodramatic, but generally, the story was interesting and full of feeling, enough so that I actually watched through a complete let's play of the game more than a year before purchasing the necessary console, controller and game, for no other reason than to follow the story. Possibly this game's largest weakness is that certain areas (particularly parts of Hyrule Field) had somewhat of a claustrophobic, oppressive feel that dampens the enjoyment of classic Zelda exploration. Some have complained that gameplay with the hero as a wolf is too awkward, but at its very worst I found it only slightly annoying, and that it generally had equal advantages to disadvantages when compared to gameplay with the hero as a human.

    Zelda twilight princess

It would not play. Continued to get it to play then it would go a little way then jump back to the first and would not play again. I had to get it resurfaced and then it works good now!

  • Aged surprisingly not bad!

I bought this mistakenly thinking it was the HD remake for the Wii U, not the original Wii version. I begrudgingly dug up my original Wii accessories from the basement, but decided to embrace this as a novelty (I originally played this on Game Cube many years ago, so the motion controls and mirrored map was entirely new to me). I’ve been having a blast playing it! The motion controls are far less of a drag than I expected, and the graphics (while lines pixily and jagged) still look pretty good! The aesthetic of the game fits the graphics nicely. All in all I’m actually glad I bought this instead of the HD remaster. The game works well as intended and is a great blast from the past.

  • As shown

The product was exactly as shown, it was a disk and the bottom was not shown. It was scratched, but that's to be expected with a game that's over 10 years old. Plus you can get it cleaned at a video store. The shipping was a little late, but besides that everything was as expected. Thanks!

  • Great condition, amazing price

Played this game when I was a little kid and finally decided to beat it. This wasn't an amazing condition but for a 15-year-old game it was pretty good, game works perfectly no issues. Considering this is $30 plus from any retailer used, this was a great price. Thanks for helping me relive my childhood

  • What We Wanted OOT to Look Like

Lifelong Zelda fan but growing up had to choose Xbox/PS over Wii. Going back to Wii now that I have kids and getting a 2nd chance to play Zelda again is awesome. I was afraid that the graphics would be too deteriorated over the course of tech evolution, but I actually came away impressed by the graphics as the jump from OOC and MM to Twilight Princess was HUGE, and I know this well because I recently played those 2 on old 64. For any franchise fan definitely worth strolling down memory lane and getting this game. If you don't have a Wii I would honeslty recommend going and buying this game along with a Wii (you can get one now for like $30-50) and check out this one and Windward Sword, havn't played that one yet but have it on deck along with that Wii remote plus..

  • One of the best Wii console games I've played.

Very large & open world to roam around in. The puzzles can be difficult, but the bosses tend to be a bit easy. The trick is to go as long as possible without looking up any tips or cheats online.

  • Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess

This is a review of the Wii version: the graphics are a slight improvement over the GameCube, I do prefer the controller of the GameCube over the Wii but as always the story and gameplay are excellent. If you want this game IMO purchase it for the GameCube, but the Wii version is certainly playable and good in its own right.

  • Great Game!

Awesome game play following a similar layout as Zelda orcarina of time. Using the Wii controller to swing your sword adds to the depth of being Link on his quest. Very fun to play, lots of sub quests and tasks to complete that stretch the game length not leaving you board.
