NotesExcellent collection featuring the best modern garage and punk bands from the Austin and New York City scenes. The odd numbered bands are from Austin, and the even numbered bands are from NYC. Highlights: -The Lusties' guitarist Bob Lustie played guitar on an album with GG Allin. -The Subway Surfers were semi-finalists on the Little Steven garage band contest. -The Explosives were Roky Erickson's (13th Floor Elevators) backing band from 1979-1982. -The Stratford Survivors were produced by Daniel Rey of Ramones fame. They also opened for the Ramones many times as well as the Replacements and many others. -The Martinets feature Ramones producer Daniel Rey on guitar as well as former members of King Missile and Yo La Tengo. '...a damn-near essential collection of 20 snotty, Ramones meet Standells meet Strokes garage-loose punkpoprawk...' Al Muzer, The Aquarian.
