    This coffeemaker is great!

    I'm crazy about this coffee maker. It makes better coffee than any other one I know about. The company stopped production on this model several years ago, so the only way I know to get it is to buy a used one. I ordered the newer model by Zojirushi , but I honestly didn't like the coffee it made as well, so I sent it back. The one I'm using now I bought used from eBay. You can still buy replacement parts for the carafe, stem and the bowl that holds the coffee. You just can't buy the part that makes the coffee, at least not new anyway. My original one stopped working mid-brew, which seems to be a common problem with this model. Further investigation led me to believe the problem is with the thermostat, which needs replacing. It's possible to take it out and put another one in, but I haven't ...

    Good looking coffeemaker makes good coffee

    I have been using this for about a month. The lid is a little tricky as some other reviewers have mentioned. Just don't screw it on too tight. #4 filters are a little big but you just have to squish them down a little. No big deal. It makes good coffee and the carafe keeps it hot for several hours. It does not have a big foot print and looks great in my modern style kitchen.

    I was not aware that this would be a used product. I was not upset, BUT: it was not as clean and scrubbed as I would have expected. I does work as well as the same model that I had for years, which finally died.

    Zojirushi Coffee Maker EC-BD15

    I like my coffee hot, fresh, and ready when I get up and with the programmable timer you can have your cake and eat it too. The thermal carafe keeps it hot and unbelievably fresh for hours so when your ready for your 2nd cup it is there waiting. The positive sides weigh far more than the negative sides of this maker. The only negative I have is the clock, if the power goes out for an instant, both the clock and the program timer reset to midnight. A battery backup may be in future models but that won't stop me if this one ever craps out, I'll buy another one. The coffee it makes is better than than any coffee maker we have ever had and we have owned 6 or 7 makers in our lifetime.
