A Good Introduction to a Wonderful Book
I found this book, DANGEROUS JOURNEY, to be a good introduction to John Bunyan's Christian classic. I say it's an introduction because a lot of the original content is NOT in the book. It has been turned into a short story, albeit with chapters, which lets youngsters (of any age) see how gripping the tale is. If you want more of the content of the original book, there are plenty of versions to choose from, including the original text itself and the original text in modern English. This version is, as the cover says, "the STORY of Pilgrim's Progress," and it does that job well. The illustrations by Alan Perry are wonderful and help communicate the story. (By the way, this apparently this started out as a British television production of the 1980s.) I hesitated to buy this book because the price seemed high, but now I believe the book gives good value for the money. If you have children or grandchildren whom you would like to meet Christian, Faithful, Hopeful, Christiana, Mercy, and Valiant-for-Truth, I definitely recommend this book.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Beautifully Illustrated Allegory for Kids (and adults)
John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress is a Christian classic that describes the life and trials of a "pilgrim" seeking God. The original is from another era and might be difficult for contemporary readers, especially children. Dangerous Journey preserves the essence of the story and is accompanied by inspired illustrations that bring the words to life. Highly recommended family reading.
