It offers an Awakening, and assures a new awareness.
The Course will change your life for the better! For me, it was a tough read since it is written in "King James" English like the Bible my Grandmother gave me when I was young. But unlike the Christian Bible, it does not confuse or seem to speak in riddles or leave interpretation to the reader. There is no bewilderment in having an Old Testament God that is jealous and wrathful and a New Testament God that is loving and forgiving. The course is what you get when you hear it "straight from the horse's mouth" (Jesus) instead of translated hearsay that has been edited to fit the official Catholic narrative, and many accounts left out completely. I completed The Course decades ago, and listened to The Course text narrated on cassette tapes as I commuted, which is way easier than reading it. With one exercise per day, it will take a full year to complete The Course, no matter how quickly you finish reading the text. But you will go back to reread some or all of the text. I recently bought a couple of these books to gift to friends that I think will benefit and seem ready to see the world and events differently. I can only hope they dive in and complete The Course. My part was simply to make them aware of The Course, and make it very available for their exploration. Nobody will ever pressure you or ask for money or missionary/recruitment work in connection with The Course. It is not a religion, it simply offers an awakening.

spiritual rather than religious, this one I purchased for a friend. I am 1/2 way thru mine. You read a page or two everyday. I recommend reading it as its supposed to be read, which takes one year. I will continue to purchase more for other friends when they notice the change in me and ask how?

This book has so much to teach about who we are and what we should place attention on. It is a manual for living, with a specific method. One have to follow the guidelines and do the exercises to get the most our of it. It is not a one time read, it is a manual for life, it must be a continuous reading at least several times and there will be something new every time we read it.
