Item received was brand new as described and pictured and was professionally packaged for shipping. Since this set was housed in the old style cardboard long box packaging, the seller was kind enough to ship in a cardboard box with two padded envelopes encasing the long box.     Weaving the folk song renaissance

    All the '50s and '60s folkies, including but not limited to Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, Tom Rush, Phil Ochs, the young Bob Dylan and later folk-pop acts like the Kingston Trio and especially Peter, Paul and Mary, owed a debt of gratitude and inspiration to the Weavers, who along with Woody Guthrie and a few others were the first popularizers of folk music for the new mass media audience (radio, records and later, TV). Pete Seeger (banjo, guitar, recorder and vocals), who also went on to solo fame, teamed with Ronnie Gilbert (vocals), Fred Hellerman (guitar, vocals) and Lee Hays (vocals) in 1948. After the '50s Red Scare snared Seeger, a famed leftie, Erik Darling replaced him in the lineup for awhile.
