I THOUGHT the center was a magnet and that the built in plate in my case would connect there... THAT WOULD BE WRONG. The built-in small circle plate in my case wouldn't connect to the magnetitic ring on the mount and the included ring couldn't be attached to my case (inside or out). I gave it to my coworker instead of returning it ( he didn't even know he picked up a MagSafe case).

It clips to the back edge of a Vent Slat, otherwise, the old style would just drag the slat down & fall off. I had to Super Glue the flat Metal Ring to my phone case, so NOW, it holds my phone without having to stick something to my Dash or Windshield. Living in FL is just too hot for those to stay stuck on. GREAT PRICE !!
