    This scanner is just perfect for me because I just started my online business and budget is tight. The cost is low and it has been very reliable and fast. I would recommend anyone who needs a scanner to get one.

    inexpensive, but cheap

    The scanner uses barcodes to 'program' its behavior. Since they are all printed together on a large sheet of paper it is difficult to get the right one under the scanner, so difficult to set up at first. The scanner is powered by the USB, so stays on even after the computer is off. After several days of use it seems to lose its programming and cease functioning. I haven't been able to reprogram without unplugging and allowing to rest for awhile. My previous scanner worked for over a decade with no attention; this lasts less than a week at a go.

    Plugged it in and Bam

    Worked perfectly just plugging in USB. If you want to get more complicated, there are settings you can figure out but it worked right out of the box with no setup for me. I work in a Village that sells vehicle stickers to residents, they have applications sent to them with bar codes on them, I get them back with their payments, scan it and it automatically finds their record. In case anyone wanted to know how I use it....
