  • Plug on neutral is the perfect solution to NEC's guidelines regarding the use of AFCI &GFCI breakers!

With the modern and ever changing NEC codes that directly impacts the costs to my customers, these combination AFCI/GFCI are the perfect solution for bath and kitchen power distribution. The latest guidelines pertaining to new installations, branch circuit upgrades, certain types of service drop upgrades now require every sleeping room and just about every other living space within the dwelling to be protected by AFCI. It has caused a massive increase to installation costs since the breakers went from $4 each for the old/regular style breakers to over $30 each for the newer/code compliant AFCI/GFCI breakers. Many of my fellow electricians think the AFCI breakers are overkill...my opinion, they're absolute proven, human life and property savers. That being said, they're worth every penny. I'm certain in time, once they become the standard in all residential installations, in all markets and regions...they will come down in price. The plug on neutral setup in the Schneider Electric (SD) Homline series panels is absolutely genius. Nice clean installation, no pig tails and simple buss style distribution. I typically now charge an additional $1,200 to my old installation quotes for setvice installations to cover the costs of the NEC required AFCI and GFCI breakers. Hope this review helps out both fellow tradesman and homeowners alike. The ever changing codes and requirements of the NEC are for the safety of all us. NEVER open a electrical panel if you're not a fully licensed and/or properly trained master/journeyman electrician. Keeping America bright, safe and energized! ☺👷👍🔧🔌☇☡
