My initial complaint was with the screen until I discovered that the protective layer was still applied. The other problem was in the specs where the 32gig choice came with a microSD slot. However, after using the unit for several weeks I was overall satisfied with both it and the price I paid.

I am disappointed to learn that Blackberry will end all support for the tablet and all its products by the end of the year/2019. No way to upgrade browser or any of the preloaded APPS. I'm disappointed that I can't upgrade the browser(s). Plus on my snail wifi, where do I begin. This was a great product back in the day, I purchased it thinking I'd have a better experience oh well I only paid $56 bucks for it. May be it will perform better on a different wifi...

I had a Kindle Fire which was nice, but I found that this display & format better & the ablity to create & edit office files is better. My biggest dislike is the quality of the apps and lack there of. The apps on the Kindle & my Epic phone are plentiful & quality apps even the free ones. The Blackberry PlayBook 32g has good size/weight, good battery life, good value for the money if you don't have much use for apps, useable apps because 50% of the apps displayed in the search are unavailable. I still will recommend the BlackBerry PlayBook 32GB, Wi-Fi, 7in to a friend in hopes that an update is coming soon with android apps.
The reason I bought this tablet was because I wanted to experiment with the QNX operating system and I kid you not it is awesome! Apps are slow to load at the first go, but from then on onwards it blazes along on its dual-core 1Ghz processor. The file management system is a god send and a definite improvement over the Android tablets and iPads I have used. I love the size of the thing and if things go well it might just replace my MacBook Pro as my class gadget. However, the Playbook isn't as user friendly as it may seem with subtle quirks like its inability to charge when turned off and the fact that the BlackBerry App World is lagging heavily behind the competition in terms of number may put you off. But the fluidity of the OS, the ingenius usage of the bezels to enhance the users experience and the solid media playback capabilities means this beautiful product is going to stay close to my heart.Read full review
The reason that I bought this tablet is to have a mobile device that allow me to communicate with my family by Skype,I couldn't download the app, having hard time with that,I'm very disappointed. The app store has to be more develop.I have another tablet and the app was so easy to install. But I have to say that the size, weight and price are very reasonable. If you use it for browsing the Internet and email it's ok.
Bought before I got my IPad 4 navigating takes a little to get used to. I was able to install kindle app with some work. Since it has Kindle it has every thing I could want. It has a camera though the pics are a little grainy looking. Its very good for the price. I use it if I don't want a bulky 10 inch tablet. I recently ordered a Blackberry phone so I can bridge it free...You don't get that with Ipad. Overall its a good deal. If you don't have 500 bucks this is the next good thing.
It looks like I may have made a mistake in getting one of these. The features are great if you have a Blackberry Phone along with it. At this time I am not going to get one, so hopefully I will be able to sell it. I do miss my BBPhone and maybe someday will be able to get one. A business person may benefit more to having this combo. My thoughts are maybe a Samsung would have been better for me at this time. I would recommend this product to only BBP users. My concern with this one is that I cannot get wifi at other places besides my home. I have asked the experts and along with my son to ne avail.
I freaking love this thing! Even though it's much heavier than the ipad mini it's a better tablet. It's resolution is beautiful, typing on the keyboard is easy and fast. Yes it has much fewer apps than android but I don't mind. Once you pair it up with a blackberry phone it really comes to life. You can use your bb phone as a mouse and keyboard. You can connect your phones carrier to your tablet to use Internet when Wifi is not available. Open many apps without having to close one first, if paired with your bb phone it let's you know when you have an incoming call or text. You can text back from the tablet too. I have no regrets so far, I got it for a great price! I will admit I was reluctant to purchase it be because of the whole "open box/damage box" but once I got it I checked it thoroughly for Scratches and chips. It had not one single scratch but it had chipped around the speaker. I mean it's not noticeable unless you take a magnifying glass lol so overall I would recommend it unless you want a million apps this tablet isn't for you.Read full review
I bought this during CyberMonday at a steal at $249 + tax and initially I loved this device. The size is actually perfect compared to other ~10" devices as you can basically add this Playbook to your RIM and just the fact that the Bridge allows you to "tether" the tablet with a Blackberry phone is truly amazing... HOWEVER... Too many stabiity issues with this device. I could barely take advantage of the dual processor that actually works inferior to my single core generic 1Ghz processor. I could only attributed to RIM software versus something like Android or something. Although I've read in February this device would make more sense with its transition into Android platform, it was a bit too little too late on my part. With many quad-cores coming to the market, I had to return this well-built device with an inferior Software platform. However, I have a feeling when it transitions into Android, it will be an unbelievable device, if that makes any difference!!!Read full review
The size, the quality, the screen. Blackberry really hit the nail on head with this tablet. If you're looking for little bird games and silly apps, this doesn't have them (yet, until 2012 when they release their free update with the 2.0 version that ports android apps) however the speed, and the ability to actually have more than one app running at the same time CAN NOT be matched. I have purchased the blackberry brand "journal case" and I take it everywhere now. It's smaller size makes it easy and less nerdy to carry versus an iPad (and I have used one before). I use my cell as a hot spot when I'm on the road, then use it for web and checking my companies orders. I also am able to add PDFs and PICs and show them to my clients on job sites with a pro touch. I also enjoy the fact I can use this as a hard drive, and I can access all my files and folders from within windows. AND it supports flash, I don't feel restricted by someone. This is a professionals tablet!Read full review
