  • Very sharp, sturdy, auto-focus. Too heavy to hand-hold for a long time - use monopod or tripod.

I really think the modern lenses built for the Mamiya 645 AF system, and the Mamiya 6x6 rangefinder camera, are just as sharp as Hasselblad Zeiss lenses, although not quite as contrasty. I have used both for some time. Many portrait photographers think the Zeiss lenses are too harsh for photos of people, and that the Mamiya lenses provide a smoother gradation. This is certainly the subject of ongoing debate. Some of the older Mamiya lenses do not have such good quality, such as the wide-angle 50mm for the RB67, which is terrible. With only very few exceptions, such as the older 60mm for Hassellbad that was discontinued many years ago, all Zeiss lenses can be trusted to be very sharp, while you need to be more careful about the older Mamiya stuff.

  • a good value

THE daily lens! very useful lens when the shooter don't needs to change often lenses on the camera to preserve from dust. i love the sharpness and the colors are respected. a little bit heavy but so nice on using the rings in manual and the AF seems fast. not so much distortion on 55 mm. it still acceptable ( i use it with a P30+ so i have a 1.3 factor on cropping) a very good value for my Phase one camera.

  • Great lens, very sharp!!!!
