This system is very good for the price. But we used it to replace a Bose 3-2-1 Series II system, and we're missing the Bose sound quality -- not a fair comparison, I realize. The surround speakers, in particular, just don't have enough umph to make the sound as present as we'd hoped. And audiophiles won't be impressed, I'm sure. Probably most annoying was our discovery that the surround speakers are not, in fact, wireless. They both must be hard wired to the receiver, which, while "wireless" for speaker wire purposes, must be plugged in for power. So the only wires this system allows you to avoid are those that otherwise would lead from the TV/amplifier to the surround speakers. That said, the system is certainly adequate. And even someone as techno-incompetent as I can set it up relatively quickly. The color coding of wires and inputs is idiot-proof. For the money, I doubt anything comes close.Read full review
Awesome Theater system, well worth the money!! If your on a budget and still want good sound, then this system is for you. Sound is very good when watching TV/Movie and the Bass is nice and deep. The wireless speaker (S-air) for the rear (not the 2 rear surround sound speakers) sounds great. You can even adjust the volume accordingly on the rear unit and even take it to another room and listen to the tv/movie, and you can use that speaker as a radio and/or alarm clock. Also if you have a music CD on and your outside, you can even take this rear speaker with you and enjoy your music, great for parties. This system is easy to use, offers detailed sound and would highly recommend this to anyone who isn't looking to drop a lot of cash.
they really advertise the wireless feature and i was expecting to be able to just place the speakers at will in the room however the only "wireless" part is the ability to locate 2 of the speakers in a remote location by placing the remote amplifier to the rear of the room and running the WIRES to each speaker as well as WIRES to each of the 4 (sub, center, front left, right) other speakers from the amp. the unit has very nice sound and the other features are very easy to operate
I replaced a Yamaha HTR5280 with this system. I had huge speakers with the Yahama, so I needed a smaller footprint for the TV room. the Sony DAV-HDX576WF was my choice. I wanted wireless as much as possible, small feature speakers and a DVD with up-lift. I got it all in this system. The wireless or A-Wave as it is called worked wonderful. the wife fell in live with the little A-wave module that allows her to carry around a satellite module and listen to the radio or even a mover if she wants to in another room! no wires! The system sounds great and does auto-eq with the eq mic that is included. I would really recommend this system for the price.
Original unit was destroyed by lightning - all the accessories survived in great shape. This unit is installed as a direct replacement - and for much less than the original cost. All the connectors and wiring matched right up. I used the paring instructions in the manual to connect to the rear-room wireless amp and it was done! The Sony has a great sound, especially after you toggle through the decoder algorithms to determine the best match to what is coming from the source TV program or DVD. I change it often to match different programs. This makes a big difference.
