The most satisfying Woodie you'll ever get!
This is one of my favorite - if not THE - movies of all time. This disc has the original b&w version as well as the much later colorization of it. Personally I recommend the original b&w. Some of the extras are a hoot (like L&H in a promo short for, of all things, WOOD! Did you know plastic is made with wood pulp?) Look for the drunk and stoned Santa who rocks back and forth in his sleigh like a n'er-do-well. Great movie.
I’m 42 and have been watching this movie my whole life. My wife is 40 and this was her 1st time watching it with our young kids. She thought it was slow and boring. She just didn’t see the greatness of the forgotten characters from classic stories and songs/rhymes. But she did come around toward the end. She gave it a chance and liked it. Now it’s next to Rudolph & Frosty her faves. Hope more people will give it the watch it deserves. I’m 42 and have been watching this movie my whole life. Made in the mid-30s, the film takes the viewer back to a time when going to the movies didn't have a hidden message, underlying propaganda theme, or push a social-bending issue. I bought it because it's the way a movie ...
