This is the most simple, easy to read, yet highly informative book on investing I have read. Although it was published over 10 years ago, the information is still relevant. Also, their is a boglehead website that has updates to the book on their forum. The book contains information as vast as all the different types of investments that are available up to tax considerations when buying or selling. The authors are biased towards index investing (as I am leaning towards), so if you are looking for speculative investing in specific stocks, etc., then this book would not be geared to you.

Only book you need! Simple, proven, and to the point. You can really beat most paid advisors by investing in only a few of the the most basic total market and bond index funds since about 75% of managed funds never consistently beat the S&P 500. It is all explained here, with good advice for others aspects of your financial life as well.

If you like to gamble, spend an inordinate amount of time on watching the market and jumping in and out, experience a lot of emotional ups and downs, and most likely achieve mediocre results, then you don’t need this book. But if you want good returns long-term, spend less time on investing and more time on enjoying true happiness in life, then this may be the best and only investing guide you’ll ever need.

I read about the book and borrowed it from the library, decided that this is a investment book that I want to own for future reference so I found it on eBay and use it often.
