In the 1870s, people traveling west of the Mississippi were still venturing into the wild. In 1876, he began establishing high-quality dining rooms along the Santa Fe Railroad, and his Harvey Houses helped change the entire picture of the American West. History books meets cookbook
This cookbook combines my two favorite hobbies: history and cooking into one beautiful book. What a brilliant businessman to meet the needs of travelers in such a wonderful way. A book worth reading not just for the recipes but for the lessons within the stories themselves. This book is such a wonderful addition to the collection.
