The only officially licensed baseball game from a third-party publisher in 2006, Major League Baseball 2K6 continues the sports series once known as World Series Baseball. Developer Kush Games has revamped the pitching, batting, and fielding interfaces from previous installments to address a number of issues. While at the plate, players can swing for the fences by pressing the right analog stick, dubbed the "swing stick," in different directions for stronger cuts or to push or pull the ball to various parts of the field. Players on the mound will need to master a new timing-based pitching system that involves tapping a button at specific moments to determine how close the ball will reach its intended target. Fielding now takes into account an athlete's momentum, allowing players to nudge or push the analog stick to jog or run. Stronger, riskier throws are also possible by applying pressure to the face buttons, while collisions can occur on the base paths as well as in the field. <br><br>To bring more realism into the game, the developers have added Inside Edge scouting data to mimic real-life tendencies of the hitters and hurlers in the dugouts and bullpens. By spending a specific number of Inside Edge "points" during a game, players can learn where to pitch a particular hitter or determine the likelihood a pitcher is going to bring the heat in certain situations. Other notable features include the ability to challenge umpire calls in an interactive mini-game, manage the team's morale through multiple seasons, and track a wide assortment of personal statistics through the VIP system used in other 2K Sports games. In addition to the standard season, franchise, and playoff game modes, Major League Baseball 2K6 includes the international teams and all-star lineups from the inaugural World Baseball Classic. Players can also take their favorite teams online via Xbox Live with support for stat tracking, buddy lists, and custom leagues.

Came in a bag but item had holes in it before it was even used. Not a windbreaker as advertised, it is paper thin and WILL tear if you try to wear like a jacket. Also a size SMALL, best for juniors or Women IF you insist on wearing (not just collecting). Not sure why this was made on Tyvek but it is as disposable as actual Tyvek painting coveralls. Also really had a foul musty smell from storage. Seller was contacted, no reply.

    MLB 2K6 - Better Then Expected

    I was quite pleasently suprised by this game. Maybe I just haven't played enough games to know but previous baseball games I have played have had two difficulties - too hard or too easy. With 2K6 you are offered an option to customize the difficulty. This allows you to make it harder as you get better. I also like the ability to choose to have the cutoff guy let the ball go through or not. In addition, the tighter the spot a pitcher is in the more nervous he gets and the game accommodates for this by making the pitch location harder. These make the game more realistic for me. The graphics are good, though the players tend to run a little funny sometimes. I have also found the defense a little frustrating at times. You will think you are sitting underneath a fly ball but it will ...

    Great

    The game has some unike features about it that are hard to explain but I will anyway. 1. It is one of many baseball games to be great but dont get me wrong this game is better than any baseball game out there and thats saying something. 2.The graphics are getting better every year but this year it went so high that it is scary to me. So to all the baseball fans out there stay safe and buy this game if you want to play as some of the great players in the major leauge and I think it has Barry Bonds

    MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2K6 (XBOX)

    ANOTHER GOOD GAME FROM 2K SPORTS. THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS THIS FROM GETTING AN EXCELLENT GRADE IS THE MANY BUTTONS IT TAKES TO PLAY THE GAME. IT IS HARD ENOUGHT TO HIT THE BALL BUT WHEN YOU TRY TO HIT AND RUN,STEAL BASES,OR TRY ANY STRATEGY AT ALL IT CAN BE CONFUSING. IT HAS GREAT GRAPHICS AND GAMEPLAY. JUST TOO MANY BUTTONS WITH TOO MANY OPTIONS.

    MLB 2K6

    Even though this title has moved away from the ESPN Sports version like in 2K5, the title is still a very good game. The gameplay is slightly different as one would expect, but the new swing stick and controls are spectacular and make the game fun fun fun to play. If you're looking for great ESPN presentation I suggest buying 2K5, but either game is guarenteed to make you heppy.

    Major League Baseball 2K6 (Xbox)

    My son just bought an xbox and this is one of the games he wanted. We actually buy ALOT of used games from the Game Stop. He has learned we can save a little bit and the games are just as nice. So I decided to take my chances on ebay and he was extremely satisfied with it.
