  • Another worthwhile Spirit album.

I've always been a fan of Spirit's 2nd album: Tne Family That Plays Together, and of their 4th: The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus, but had mostly forgotten about their 3rd: Clear. It didn't make much of an impression on me when I'd heard it a few times back in the days of vinyl. Recently bought it on CD and I'm ready to upgrade my opinion. A lot of experimentation and variety of styles on this collection. Jazzier and maybe a little bluesier than their other releases. Spirit had a unique sound and a very eclectic approach. This is another angle on it. Lots of good songs, and a few great ones. If you are new to Spirit I would recommend starting with The Family That Plays Together or The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus first and then moving on to Clear if you are interested in hearing more.

  • One of the Three Great Spirit Albums

This is a great album, one with several different musical styles and heartfelt lyrics with excellent vocals. Dark Eyed Woman was a big hit and there are two great instrumentals on it. Get this one for sure--great sound and emotional lyrics. Give a Life Take a Life is an example of the emotional songs on this one--you will love it. The extra cuts are good but appear to be mostly an after thought to promote additional sales of the re-release.

  • THE 60's AS IT REALLY WAS - CHECK THIS BAND OUT!

With their Top 40 hit "I Got A Line On You" behind them, Spirit return to their underground Jazz/Rock experiments with a vengance on their third album, This is fusion before there was fusion. If you want to hear the true sound of the 60's underground, check out Spirit.

  • Purely 60's music

I bought the cd because I had the album years ago and liked it. It is classic 60's rock music but the instrumentals are what I like the most.
