    Great sound and video in compact unit.

    Sounds is excellent - There is no Ethernet port or Bluetooth and clearly Marantz engineers concentrated on creating a superior audio and video product rather than one that has a bunch of bells and whistles that does 15 things badly and ultimately breaks down on you . Absolutely NEEDS remote to set-up and operate: do not buy unit without it OR budget for the extra expense. The generic remote from 1-800-remotes works great at 1/2 the cost of an original.

    Marantz has great tone quality

    I got this unit for my bedroom and the sound quality is great for a small room. My front and center speakers sound good however as yet I haven’t been able to get sound from the surround speakers. I’m looking at a manual online to see what I’m doing wrong but haven’t figured it out yet. Hopefully I will figure this out and that it’s just me and not the amp. I do wish that Marantz offered a manual but apparently this model only comes with a cd.

    Slim form factor

    I have been a devotee of the Marantz brand for many years. This slim receiver fills a niche to use as a controller/interface to output multiple devices to my television and in turn the sound bar.
